October 1st. Autumn in the northern hemisphere. The trees have started to shed their golden-brown leaves, returning vital nutrients to the soil that is then reabsorbed by their roots. We trust in this natural cycle, just like we accept that some trees lose their leaves before others. We trust in it because we have seen it happen time and again. Just like day follows night. Just like winter follows autumn. Autumn, rich in the abundance of the harvest makes way for the deep underground work of winter, where seedlings prepare for the new beginnings in spring and the full bloom of summer. So, by now I expect you will have realised that this is a metaphor for life and its cycles, not just the seasonal changes in trees!
Women also have seasons, within our monthly cycles certainly, but many post-menopausal women experience energy cycles, too. Autumn is the season of the Queen PowerType™ energy, in a woman’s cycle this is the week before menstruation. Have you ever noticed that your tolerance for indecision is lower during this week (read: you take no crap this week!)? It is a time for seeing the truth of situations and decisiveness; but be careful of acting upon any decisions made during this time, there is another PowerType™ who can better help you with that…stay tuned to my blogs to learn more about her!
Once we become aware of these internal seasons we can work with them, rather than have them work against us. Planning diaries and projects this way can help generate a more intuitive and productive work flow. You will be surprised at just how much time you gain!
